Amina Saada

After graduating as a Clothing Artisan, Amina applied to Aalto University to study Fashion. Her special interests were in Sportswear and Costume Design. During her Bachelor studies she did her minor in Costume Design and took many different courses and workshops to get the best versatile education possible.

Amina did her first design internship at H&M in Stockholm, which helped deepening her Print Design skills and showed her what the field is like in a big global brand perspective.

Graduating from Bachelor studies, Amina continued to do her Masters in Aalto University.

For her Master studies Amina continued to deepen her skills at the same time trying to find her own specific style and passion. During one course led by the Artist Kaisaleena Halinen, Amina found sculpting again. Working with clay was really inspiring and Amina wanted to use it as a way of replacing traditional fabric draping. That is how Amina’s Master thesis ´Wearable Textile Sculptures` was born. This concept helped her land an internship in the Antwerp based fashion house RAF SIMONS in 2019.

After graduating as Master of Art in Fashion and seeing how a globally big but corporately small fashion brand is run, Amina wanted to have something of her own. She had two friends who thought the same way and had the same values as her. That is how The FNRM Oy (The Finnish National Romance Museum) was born in 2021.

Still to this day the brand is run by the three friends with values like circular economy, slow fashion and freedom of creativity. Taking inspiration from Finnish history, mythology, culture and traditions.

Starting from the year 2022, Amina has been working for the design office Ratia Brand Co Oy, as a Print and Clothing designer. Amina’s work in Ratia has been widely seen from big Finnish chains like Prisma, Sokos and Eurokangas, to independent companies like Plywood Print and Lastu.

As a Print designer Amina’s style is versatile fitting for many different needs and products.
